Secret Wishes
I want to be your cook
and prepare a special meal.
I wouldn’t count the time it took
to rinse and to peal,
to chop onions or meat
for you to eat.
I would feel great
to invent a fine dish.
On a big plate
I’d bring in the fish
and touch your hand
with tenderness, dear friend.
And before in good mood
I’d go to the kitchen once more
to fetch a plate with divine food
I’d stop at the door.
I’d come back to kiss your lip...
then out I’d slip.
