The Invasion's Toll (Russia-Ukraine War)

A take on the tragic conflict between Ukraine and Russia in 2022, 2023.
More inspired by the song `The Trooper´ than factual or military
expertise. `Totally not cheapest fame-phishing!´

So civilians die and brave soldiers die, too:
An invasion started, it is what we must do.

The Russian tanks fire, so our rockets flare.
War is deadly real, no soon over nightmare!

A look from the window, or cross the street:
Shot sniper bullets we must expect indeed!

Reservists shudder, a mobilization has begun.
For whom the bell tolls dies! No joke, no fun.

The words are spoken, threats are broadcast.
Fierce weapons delivered to the slaughterfest.

Toxic gas, meat shredders, or radiation's kiss.
Praised for how many millions they won't miss.

Those media experts snatched the money paid.
Still, good people must meet their crueler fate!

Millions may die due to militant resource gain.
The rich and mighty gift us only death & pain.

The real resource war is global. Of that I am certain. With the time passing by, I learned to understand that
some consider the Russia-Ukraine war a distraction, or #FakeNewsMedia instead. Still, as in all wars: Those
who are hurt the most are usually the ones, who had no vote in going to war or not. Children, civilians,
elderly people, and dutiful soldiers dying for another political BS charade... Mankind will never learn.
