Orangentrophy - a Found Poem

Mummy can peel an orange in one go,
a giant puzzle piece that fits together with itself.
Sometimes she can make a double helix
or a lotus flower.


Lily met a Mexican who used to steal
oranges from the Chinese cemetary.

Can a Mexican be haunted by a Chinese ghost?

I pictured him, hurdling
over tombstones and crouching
behind shrubs, and then going home
with bulging pockets
to jumping children who would
shred the orange peel into confetti.

Yr Correspondent still thinks you have been in "that Seamus book". This poem apeels very much to yr C-dents sensibilties, and also gives him s.t. to take home, into the pitchy northern night.
