Mauro Montacchiesi

A COFFEE SWEETENED WITH LOVE

While the moon smiled

while the stars played

we discussed life,

our future

and word after word

came the warmth of dawn.

And we would fall asleep

just when

it was time to get up.

It was always you

then

to wake me up

with the sweetest kiss

with the aroma of a coffee

sweetened with love.

Then I would get up

I would leave

taking with me

the miracle of your smile

And already I longed

To return to you.

Days went by

whole

and always I had the desire

to discover something more

about you.

I was intoxicated with your life

you, with mine.

The universe was

a treasure chest of diamonds

for you

for me.

But fate

is gentle is cruel.

Those days are already

a lake of fantasies

are

waves caught

by the coils of time

difficult

to intoxicate us

once more.

You have forgotten

when you were convinced

that nothing

no one

would take you away from me.

That nothing

no one

would take me away from you.

A hurricane swept away

your poems of love

of love for me.

I caressed your body

I lived your mind

as it flew through the sky.

The night was an enchantment of stillness

where to love each other

where to dream.

To live is

savoring the aroma

of every breath

of every emotion.

Only when

you have lost all this

you understand that time

is unstoppable

that it is difficult

impossible

to turn it back.

Moments

glances

that will never return.

While the moon smiled.
