Tell me a tale

I'm telling our story tonight
heaven's messed up in our fight
all the stars crashed down between the rivers
but we have to go on without shocks and shivers
our fairytale is dedicated to one little girl
who refused to blast our whole world
 
 
You had this image of love
and he really fitted in
but you had already fallen,
your heart was nothing to win.
poets were singing
but you pretended not to listen,
you lay in little boy's arms
and were in total bliss
 
And you asked "why
do all my best friends fall in love with me?"
you drank whisky and rye
to forget all the things you had seen
 
You broke down to your knees
and the man-whore helped you out
but you were far to blind to see
he had begun to check you out,
so you ran back to your little boy
and got completely numb,
not even looking for traces of joy
and getting slowly dumb
 
And you asked "why
do all my best friends fall in love with me?"
you drank whisky and rye
to forget all the things you had seen
 
so the poet's heart is torn
and the man-whore's getting lonely,
you throw around your scorn
'cause you played your role merely.
your best friends are in love you
and if they aren't, you're jealous
'cause then your little boy can't mess with you,
the circle's becoming vicious
 
And you wonder: "Why
do all my best friends fall out of love with me?"
you start to cry
and drink something to get over thee,
 
So my little girl
stay with your little boy,
live in  your own world
and get a new toy,
 
and most important of all:
 
Stop asking "why?"
'Cause I can't stand when you do,
just say goodbye
to your old self, and be born new!
